We are very pleases to say that we won by 11 points and the final scores were Goring 43 and the home team 73 points. It was a wonderful evening with friendly people followed by a well earned tea. We won our matches with a very respectable score of 89 to Peppard's score of 40.  We all agreed that the afternoon was perfect, playing with really friendly people and an excellent Almshouses tea served afterwards as always.  The only things missing were the tableclothes, but that's another story and one that made us all laugh!!

Whitchurch Hill Fête - 29th May

On Saturday 29th May we attended Whitchurch Hill Fete and we were pleasantly surprised to see so many eager people try their hand at bowls. Thank you to all those that turned out on such a miserable day, sandwiched as it was between much better weather. Thanks must go to the lady who back for a second go, and the two gentlemen that entertained us at the very end with a fine show of competitive bowls (they claimed to be beginners!) to lift all our spirits. To them and any one else who would like to join us on a Monday evening at The Almshouse Bowls Club at Goring Heath at 6pm for a 'Roll Up' they would be made very welcome.

Trentham Bowls Club v Almshouses Bowls Club - 26th May

There were five rinks and although the scores were 103 to Trenthams and 50 to the Almshouses,  it was a very enjoyable evening and the only thing to dampen our spirits was the rain on the last end.  We look forward to a return match at our home rink on Wednesday 14th July at 6.15pm.

Goring Bowls Club v Almshouses Bowls Club – 1st May 2010

We had a very enjoyable first match of the season against Goring on Saturday 1st May at Goring Bowls Club.
